A number of different grants, project support funds and scholarships are offered to individuals and groups across the Penrith electorate. Aboriginal Affairs NSW

Aboriginal Cultural Grants

The Aboriginal Affairs NSW Cultural Grants Program 2023/2024 will open on January 15th 2024 to legal entities and organisations working with Aboriginal communities, and able to enter into a funding agreement with AANSW across NSW.

$1 million in grants is now open for organisations to apply to stage events and activities that celebrate and promote traditional and contemporary expressions of Aboriginal culture.

Grants from $500 to $20,000 are on offer over two rounds. Round 2 opens on the 15 January 2024. 

Applicants for the Aboriginal Cultural Grants Programs have now closed. The next round opens in January 2024.

Community and Place

The Community and Place Grant program is now open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Organisations and unincorporated Aboriginal community groups with an eligible auspice organisation across NSW.

Organisations can apply for up to $250,000 in funding for new programs, infrastructure, equipment and vehicles.

Expression of interests close on the 30th of October.  Projects must be delivered between 1 July 2024 and 30 June 2025. 

Applicants for the Community and Place Grants Programs have now closed. The next round opens in 2024.

Community

Transurban Community Grant Program

The Transurban Community Grant program is now closed to organisations with Deductible Gift Recipient status across NSW.

Transurban Community Grant program opens 1 October 2023 for grants up to $10,000, particularly focused on providing grants for initiatives which enhance Road Safety, Local Environment & Biodiversity, Financial and Social Inclusion and First Nations Organisations. 

Applicants for the Transurban Community Grants Programs have now closed. The next round opens in 2024.

Education

Public Education Foundation Scholarships

The Public Education Foundation Scholarships program is now closed to public school students and educators across NSW.

The Public Education Foundation offer hundreds of scholarships and awards to students and educators in public school systems across Australia. These scholarships help students overcome barriers to achievement created by social and economic disadvantage. The Foundation also acknowledge and reward academic excellence in our public schools.

Applicants for the 2024 Public Education Foundation Scholarships programs have now closed. The next round opens in May 2024.

Environmental

Environmental Education

The Environmental Education Grants program is now open to community groups and organisations across NSW.

The Environmental Educate Grants program is aimed at funding projects that develop, broaden and transform the community's knowledge, skills, and intrinsic motivation to engage in sustainable behaviour and encourage participation in protecting the environment.

The current grant round closes at 5pm on 5 February 2024.

Household

Energy Accounts Payment Assistance 

The Energy Accounts Payment Assistance program is now open to households experiencing a short-term financial crisis or emergency and finding it hard to pay their recent energy bill.

The EAPA helps people experiencing difficulty paying their energy bill because of short-term financial hardship, crisis or emergency. Households are given digital vouchers to help pay electricity or grass bills.

Rebate Swap for Solar Offer

The Rebate Swap for Solar Offer program is now open to low income households in NSW.

The Swap for Solar Offer helps homeowners on low incomes reduce their electricity bills by installing 3 kilowatt solar systems on their homes.

Seniors Energy Rebate

The Seniors Energy Rebate program is now open to Commonwealth Seniors Health Card holders.

The Seniors Energy Rebate Rebate helps eligible self-funded retirees pay their electricity bills. The Rebate is $200 per household, per financial year and customers can apply for the rebate each financial year.

Toll Relief Rebate

The Toll Relief Rebate program is now open to eligible motorists.

The Toll Relief Rebate allows motors who spend more than $402 a year on tolls in the 2023-24 financial year to receive a 40% rebate or up to $1,605 for eligible sole traders.

The current rebate round closes 30 June 2024.

Women

Investing in Women Funding Program 

The Investing in Women Funding Program is now open to registered not-for-profits, local councils and private sector industry bodies working in partnership with communities and government across NSW.

The Investing in Women Funding Program seeks to fund innovative projects that focus on the three pillars that align with the NSW Women's Strategy (2023-2026), in particular pillars two and three; Health and Wellbeing, and Participation and Empowerment.

The current grant round closes 4pm on 8 April 2024.

Veterans Affairs 

ANZAC Community Grants Program

The ANZAC Community Grants program is now closed to community and veteran's groups across NSW.

The ACGP provides small grants for a range of projects that commemorate and educate New South Wales communities about the service and sacrifices of current and former military servicemen and servicewomen. Projects which support activities benefiting the NSW veteran community are also eligible for funding.

Applicants for the 2023 Anzac Community Grants Program have now closed. The next round opens in September 2024.

Community War Memorials Fund

The ANZAC Community Grants program is now open to community and veterans groups across NSW.

The CWMF funds projects that help conserve, repair and protect war memorials across NSW. Since the establishment of the program in 2008, grants have been provided for a wide range of projects including conservation assessments, honour roll repair, war memorial cleaning and conservation work, arborist advice for war memorial trees, security measures for memorials, repairs to war memorial halls and improvements to the accessibility of memorials.

The current grant round closes at 5pm on 11 February 2024.
