The Parliament of NSW is delighted to welcome families from across NSW to the Festival of Democracy on Friday 19 April for school holiday fun.
The Festival of Democracy returns for its third edition at NSW Parliament House on Macquarie Street after a period of essential restoration work, which will give families an opportunity to see the newly restored Parliament and learn about democracy in the state of NSW.
Karen McKeown invites you and your families to visit Australia’s oldest Parliament to celebrate democracy with free, fun activities tailored for children aged 4 to 12 years and their families.
From hands-on crafts to interactive games and captivating roving performances, there's something for every member of the family to enjoy.
Children will have the unique opportunity to participate in mock committee hearings and even learn how to vote in an election tailor made for them by the NSW Electoral Commission.
Families can also enjoy craft sessions, guided tours of the historic chambers, and refreshments from the Public Cafe.
For more information and to secure free tickets, please visit the Parliament of NSW Education website.
Can’t make it on this day? Join one of our free public tours, running every weekday (excluding the day of the festival) during the school holidays at 11.30am and 1.30pm – families are welcome. For more information on tours, or to book, visit the Parliament of NSW website.
